How to Schedule a Productive Weekend

Most people do not like working during the weekends, which is totally understandable. After all, the long week has left you exhausted and all you want is to rest. But wait, failing to plan on how you will spend your weekend is as good as planning to waste your time.

1. Plan your working hours

However much it’s a weekend, getting some work done will not hurt. If you leave work on Friday hoping that you will do some work without adequate planning, you might end up not doing anything. The first step is to figure out the hours that work best for you. Don’t force yourself to wake early when you know that you are not a morning person.

2. Get enough sleep

If you wish to work on Saturday, do not stay up late on Friday. That way, you are sure to have a fresh mind when you get up on Saturday; thus making it easier for you to achieve your plans. Adults require nine hours of sleep every day. Try as much as you can to meet the minimum expectations for the weekend.

3. Take a technology break

Most of the work in this century is done using a computer. Now that you have been glued to your screen all through the weekend, this is the perfect opportunity to break from all that. Avoid watching movies, browsing your phone and any other tech-related activity. This will give you ample time to bond with your spouse and children. Play board games with them, care for your pet, visit the museum or any other task.

4. Define your goals early

When you have too much work on your plate, it’s easy to get lost in everything as you attempt to have it done all at once. If you fail to set expectations for the day, you might get easily distracted by other projects. Create a weekend schedule and work on following it to the letter.
